Investment for the future

SycoTec is now also well equipped in the field of drive control. In April of this year, shares were acquired in the strategic development partner and electronics supplier Zikodrive, based near Manchester/UK. This is a logical step for SycoTec, as a manufacturer of high-precision electric drives, as it closes a major gap in its previous product portfolio: In addition to its own competencies in mechanical design and electro-technical motor design, it will thus be possible in future to exert a direct influence on developments in the field of electronic drive control and power electronics as well as their system integration on a hardware and software basis.

Shareholders and management see this as a milestone for a stable future in the field of technology development and supply capability of integrated system solutions in drive technology.

An excellent example of the new partner’s expertise and technical capabilities is a miniaturized frequency converter for SycoTec’s stand-alone, battery-powered toolholder spindle: All previous development partners had described performance in this size as technically impossible or economically unattractive. Since last month, the first prototypes of Zikodrive have now been tested at SycoTec – with surprisingly good success.

Based on this experience, the entire team is confident that many more joint, innovative and competitive problem solutions will soon be brought to market for customers, thus significantly strengthening the future of our company.
